- Specialist individual injury care including diagnosis, treatment and full structured rehabilitation programme. This follows a "hands-on" approach with the use of ultrasound etc as indicated.
- This is inclusive of the use of the rehabilitation area isokinetic lab and hydrotherapy pool.
- Each client is assigned his/her individual physiotherapist to ensure continuity of treatment. Each staff member has individual expertise in specific area of rehabilitation ensuring each client receives optimum care.
- The Centre has developed a close working relationship with local hospital consultants and direct referral for specialist scanning and orthopaedic consultation is available which underlines our total care package. It is envisaged that a portable X-ray unit and musculo-skeletal ultrasound unit may be installed in the future.
- Group access for fitness/conditioning sessions with potential access to rehabilitation area, hydrotherapy pool and indoor warm up area.
- Includes water and/or land based aerobics or gym based fitness sessions with instruction and is available as a regular session.

- Personal Fitness Assessment
This combines the full well-person check with a formal treadmill or bike assessment of fitness measuring VO2 max - the assessment used in sports fitness testing.
This package is designed for the under 45 age group who take some exercise and wish to assess and improve their fitness level.
Package include full physical examination with doctor, a lifestyle and fitness consultation and complete written and verbal feedback of results.
Fitness Testing in Sport
This session comprises a formal treadmill or bike assessment of fitness using breath by breath gas exchange analysis to measure VO2 max. If required, other methods of testing such as the multi-stage of bleep shuttle test can be arranged.
The Centtre has a computerised Technogym Rev 9000 isokintetic machine for evaluation of muscle strength and function for use as an assessment and rehabilitation tool in athletes.
- A baseline measurement to compare against normal values.
- Provides a goal for the return to full function following injury or surgery.
- Monitors athletes over time and individualise training and strength and conditioning programmes.
- The Centre staff includes senior podiatrists who hold sessions on gait analysis, lower limb examination and provision of orthotics as required.
- Particularly valuable in those who participate in sport and have lower limb/foot problems where biomechanical abnormalities are suspected.
- Provision for video analysis and force plate equipment for biomechanical analysis, which has been purchased, to be installed in the near future.

- Combines the full well-person check with a formal cardiovascular assessment with both cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) and full formal cardiac treadmill exercise test.
- Designed for the over 45 age group who take some exercise or wish to regain fitness or lose weight and who may be concerned about the risk of exercise in their age group.
- Echocardiography provides a non-invasive picture of the internal structure and function of the heart.
- Particularly useful in young people who participate in sport as a screening tool to prevent the devastating effect of sudden death in young athletes.
- Requires informed ethical consent as to potential implications.
